The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR) has an exciting opportunity for an Infectious Disease Specialist to lead the regional Antimicrobial Stewardship Team, which will be a 0.5 FTE commitment. The remaining 0.5 FTE will be provisioned towards clinical service, including coverage for inpatient and outpatient consultations.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in Antimicrobial Stewardship in addition to leadership abilities. Specific training and experience in antimicrobial stewardship and hospital epidemiology is favored but not required. The Infectious Disease Specialist will provide high-quality clinical care for patients in keeping with the strategic objectives of the RQHR.
RQHR is a partner in the educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain a Clinical Faculty appointment in the Department of Medicine and provide instruction and teaching to learners assigned to, or working with the Infectious Diseases Specialist(s).
The successful candidate may be considered for the Section Head of Infectious Diseases opportunity. The Section Head of Infectious Diseases will be an effective leader, with strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Infectious Diseases. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.?
