Family Physician Opportunity: Lestock, Saskatchewan
The RQHR is seeking a family physician(s) to provide services for the community and area surrounding Lestock, who will work in collaboration with other rural healthcare partners, providing a full scope of practice with admitting privileges.
The Community of Lestock is situated approximately 141 km north of the city of Regina and is home to approximately 226 people. The St. Joseph’s Integrated Care Centre, located in Lestock, provides service not only to the residents but also serves a broader farming area.
St. Joseph’s Integrated Care Centre (http://www.rqhealth.ca/finding/lestock/index.shtml):
· Is a 16-bed facility offering acute, long term, respite, adult day care services and 24 hour a day emergency care to patients, including assessment, treatment, stabilization and referral. The major referral centre is Regina.
· Provides Radiology and Laboratory services.
· Technicians perform a core set of x-ray examinations. Specialists in Regina interpret the x-rays.
· Laboratory technicians collect specimens requested by physicians. Core chemistry and hematology tests are provided locally, while select specimens are sent to All Nations' Healing Hospital, Regina General Hospital and the Provincial Laboratory for more advanced testing.
· Performs ECGs which are interpreted by local physicians. They are then sent to cardiac specialists in Regina for further interpretation.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must hold certification with the Medical Council of Canada and be eligible for licensure to practice in Saskatchewan. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to citizens or residents of Canada.
