Our Opportunity:

An opportunity presents for a fellowship-trained Specialist in Critical Care Medicine to join the Department of Critical Care Medicine of our health region as a full-time or part-time, independent, fee-for-service physician. This position includes between 12 and 24 weeks of Intensive Care Unit coverage (medical and surgical ICUs). Call coverage would be shared with your colleagues and you would also share in funds made available from the Specialist On-Call Program for the Department for this coverage.  (hyperlink: http://www.rqhealth.ca/programs/in_hospital_care/critical_care/critical_care.shtml)

You will be responsible for the care and management of patients in the Medical ICU and the Surgical ICU at the Regina General Hospital, Medical/Surgical ICU at the Pasqua Hospital, and of mechanically ventilated patients in the Coronary Care Unit at Regina General Hospital. These ICUs provide tertiary-level critical care services, caring for a broad range of patients with the exception of transplantation.

The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold certification in Critical Care Medicine or be eligible for certification in Critical Care Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for licensure to practice in Saskatchewan.
